Early Years Workforce - Level 3 Diploma

The course is aimed at learners over 19 years of age who wish to work with children. Once completed you will be able to work with children under the age of five years old. There are many settings that will support you do this. A private day nursery, creche, nursery school, infant school, childminder or work within family support.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade C/4 or above to include English Language and Mathematics and/or a level 2 qualification in Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Details

During the course you will be taught about how to support children's development within an early years setting, including the delivery of the early years foundation stage curriculum The course consists of units that will each be assed with a written task and a practical assessment.

Loans for course fees may be available for eligible learners.

Work Experience

To complete a level 3 part time course you will be required to find a voluntary placement or paid employment. You will be expected to find your own placement. Within your placement you will be required to support the staff in their daily role. You will support children on an individual or group basis, supporting their holistic development. Your role will be to follow policies and procedures set by the school.

As part of your work placement, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.

Progression

Once completed you will be able to progress onto the Foundation Degree Early Years Childhood Studies and gain employment in an early years setting.
