Travelling to our Campuses

Our two campuses are conveniently located and you can access them easily from anywhere in Greater Manchester. You’ll also have a range of different ways to travel to either our Middleton or Rochdale Campus.

Free Bus – Routes & Timetable

If you’re a student of any age at Hopwood Hall then you can travel for free on any one of our college buses. You simply need to show your student ID card when are boarding the bus.

All buses go to our Middleton Campus, with a number of them stopping within a short walking distance of the Rochdale Campus.

Return journeys all depart from Middleton Campus at 4pm on Monday to Friday.

Our Pass (16-18)

If you’re aged 16-18 and planning to get a public bus service to college, then you’ll be eligible to apply for Our Pass.

For a one off £10 administration fee, Our Pass cardholders can travel for free on local buses right across Greater Manchester. It’s a great way to get to college, as well as meet new friends and enjoy the amazing city we live in!

Directions to Middleton Campus

Address: Rochdale Road, Middleton, M24 6XH

By road: The Middleton Campus is two miles from junction 20 on the M62. Take the A627(M) towards Oldham and leave at first junction and follow signs to Middleton.

By rail: The Castleton rail station is two miles from the Middleton Campus, and takes around ten minutes to reach by bus. The 17 service runs through this area and stops at Middleton Campus.

By bus: The no.17 bus service runs frequently between Rochdale and Manchester approximately every ten minutes and stops at the entrance to the Middleton Campus.

Directions to Rochdale Campus

Address: St. Mary’s Gate, Rochdale, OL12 6RY

By road: The Rochdale Campus is 2.6 miles from junction 20 of the M62. Follow the signs for Rochdale town centre.

By rail: Rochdale train station is a ten-minute walk from our Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system that links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.

By bus: The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the Rochdale Campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough that terminate in Rochdale.

Visitor Parking

Both our campuses have free on-site car parking for visitors. At Middleton, visitors are requested to use the car park outside reception and this is free for students.

At Rochdale you will need to use the intercom at the barrier to gain entry. If you are a student who would like to park at the campus, you can purchase a yearly permit for just £20.
