Self-Study Online Courses
If you’re hungry to improve your knowledge but can’t currently devote too much time to learning, then you’d be perfect to complete our free* short online courses.
These pathways are designed to give you access to bite-sized information across the space of a short timeframe, usually no more than an hour.
The self-study routes can provide an ideal stepping stone for personal and professional growth. You’ll come away feeling more knowledgeable, more informed and often with a downloadable certificate as evidence of your training.
It’s for this reason why the courses are an excellent form of CPD (Continuing Professional Development). You can improve your competency in your current role and this can often open up amazing new doors for you in your professional life.
You can use your newly developed skills to stand out in your current role or even include the training on your CV when applying for a new job.
The short online courses vary in subject and length. You do not need any previous qualifications to undertake one and most are suitable for all abilities.
A basic level of English and IT literacy will be required to complete any of the courses and access to a suitable electronic device is essential.
It really is a great opportunity to develop your skills!
*Learners must reside in a Greater Manchester postcode area and be aged 19+ as of the 31st August 2022 in order to be entitled for their first free course. They must have been resident in the UK for over 3 years, for purposes other than study. Funding is not available for those on an Apprenticeship. These courses are accessible to those who are in or out of work.
