Immediate entry to the one-year Level 3 Access to HE Diploma offers students who have already attained sufficient GCSE qualifications the quickest route to university. Usually this means students must have attained 4 GCSEs grade A-C/9-4, including English and Maths. Science is usually required for health related courses.
Our two health pathways offer routes into Higher Education to train for a variety of health related professions including: Nursing, Midwifery, Podiatry, Chiropody, Paramedics and Operations Department Practitioner.

Health Studies addresses a range of topics from Inequalities in Accessing Health Care, Health Promotion and Ethical Issues in Health Care to The History and Development of the NHS.
Psychology topics comprise:
- Mental Health
- Psychological Perspectives
- Social Psychology
- Biopsychology
- Stereotyping.
No work experience is required to pass this Level 3. The more health-related work experience you have, though, the easier it will be to secure a university place. Most universities will expect you to have had work experience and be able to speak about this in your written applications and interviews for university places.

The Access to HE Diploma offers students a way to gain the qualifications needed to enter Higher Education and gain a degree, helping enter their chosen career.
Students achieving the HCP diploma progress to a variety of degree courses and careers, from Nursing and Physiotherapy to Podiatry, Operating Department Practice and Speech & Language Therapy.
