You will study subjects including:

To complete a level 2 part time course you will be required to find a placement in a primary or secondary school. You will be expected to find your own placement. Within your placement you will be required to support the class teacher and teaching assistant in their daily role. You will support children on an individual or group basis, developing their numeracy, literacy and confidence. Your role will be to follow policies and procedures set in the school. As part of this qualification, you must complete a minimum of 6 hours work experience per week.
As part of your work placement, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.
Upon completion of this qualification you will be able to progress onto either the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course, or the Early Years Educator pathway. You will also be able to gain employment in a school as a Teaching Assistant.
