This part time qualification is aimed at 19+ learners and is designed to stimulate interest and encourage the learners’ understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children.

To begin this course, learners are expected to have 4 GCSEs grade D/3 or above to include English and Mathematics or equivalent grades.
Topics on this course include:

- Equality and inclusion
- Child development
- Maintain and support relationships
- Partnership working
There is no specific work experience required or undertaken for this course however all learners will participate in physical and practical lessons in our ‘virtual nursery’ which mimics the layout and equipment or a real nursery environment.
Upon completion of this course, students have the option to complete various Level 3 REarly Years full time courses. You could also take up an apprenticeship or move straight into employment, with possible careers including: Primary teaching, early years teacher, early years educator, nanny, childminder, practitioner in day nurseries, nursery schools and primary schools or preschool worker.
