Our Diploma gives you all the essential knowledge and skills required to work in the health and social care sector, allowing you to progress onto an apprenticeship, higher education or into employment.

Expect to learn about health and social care services, communication skills required for the sector, how to advise others about healthy lifestyles and much more.

This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above are needed to begin this course, and this needs to include English, Maths, Science and one other academic subject.

Alternative entry requirements to the GCSEs include the BTEC First Diploma at Merit or above.

Work Experience

You will complete 100/200 hours per year depending on the course level.

The first placement will be allocated to you in your first term. You will be visited at your placement by a member of staff.

As part of your work placement, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.

Progression

On completion of the course you can progress onto our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, a level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, an HNC or they can go into employment with possible careers such as: Health Professional, Home Carer, Health Care Assistant, Senior Carers, Support Worker, Auxiliary Nurse, Personal Assistant, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist.
