Entry requirements for this course include 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including English Language or other alternatives. Progression from Level 1 will also be accepted and discussed at your induction session.
This Level 2 Diploma lays a great foundation for gaining an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to work in a range of clinical healthcare support settings and in adult care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including:
- Dementia awareness
- Mental health and well-being
- Supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care
- Daily living needs
- Healthcare procedures
This course is suitable for learners who wish to work or are working in a variety of different settings within the NHS and private care facilities.
A work experience placement will need to be completed for successful completion of the course. This will be arranged by your tutors.
As part of your work placement, the college will support you in completing a DBS application.
Successful completion of this course can lead to employment or a Level 3 Health and Social Care course.
Learners can enter either the adult care or health workforces in roles such as:
- Adult Care Worker
- Health are Assistant/Support Worker
- Personal Assistant
