Level 1 diploma qualification consists of 13 units:
- Safeguarding
- Principles and values in health and social care
- Mental health
- Nutrition
- Dementia
- service provision and roles within health and social care, children and young people’s settings
- Person centred care
- Job opportunities
- Communication
- Human growth and development
- Awareness of Equality and inclusion in health and social care, children and young people’s settings
- Awareness of health and safety within health and social care, children and young people’s settings
- Awareness of working with others in health and social care, children and young people’s settings
Work Experience
There is no formal work placement at Level 1. However, you may take part in a supervised class visit to a health and social care setting. This visit provides a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the workplace environment and begin developing the skills and understanding needed to progress to Level 2.
Progression
On completion of the course students’ progress onto our Level 2 extended certificate in Health and Social Care or they can go into employment.
