Entry Requirements
An interest in the subject area is essential as well as a good level of English. If English is not your first language you will need to be at a minimum of ESOL level 1.
Details
You will be assessed by your tutor through practical barbering tasks and online tests or assignments. The units studied may include:
Working in the hair industry
Health and safety
Client consultation
Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
Cut men's hair
Cut facial hair
Perming servicesYou will develop your skills on head blocks/class peers and then you will carryout your assessments on live clients in a realistic salon environment.
Work Experience
Not mandatory but a placement in a barber salon would support your learning and help to improve skills and confidence.
Progression
This qualification gives you the skills and knowledge to work in industry or to progress onto level 3 Barbering.
