Cutting Women's Hair - Level 2 Certificate
This qualification will be delivered over one evening per week on Wednesday's 5:30-8:30pm. Each session will be 3 hours long over 26 weeks.
The course aim is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to cut and style women's hair into a range of looks. Learning new skills such as layering, club cutting, scissor over comb, free-hand cutting techniques and modern and traditional hair styles.
The knowledge acquired will enable you to understand the main factors that need to be considered when cutting hair, the effect cutting hair at different angles has on the haircut, the importance of applying tension to the hair when cutting and safety considerations that must be taken into account.
We have two, brand new state of the art salons which includes all up to date and industry standard equipment and facilities to take your learning to the next level. The full course cost is £425.
Exact start dates during the Autumn term to be confirmed, however places fill quickly so early applications are encouraged.

Entry Requirements
An interest in the subject area is essential as well as a good level of English. If English is not your first language you will need to be at a minimum of ESOL level 1.
Details
You will be assessed by your tutor through practical hairdressing tasks and online tests or assignments. The units studied may include:
Working in the hair industry
Health and safety
Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
Cut women's hair
The art of dressing hair
You will develop your skills on head blocks/class peers and then you will carryout your assessments on live clients in a realistic salon environment.
Work Experience
Not mandatory but a placement in a hairdressing salon would support your learning and help to improve skills and confidence.
Progression
This qualification gives you the skills and knowledge to work in industry or to progress onto level 3 hairdressing
