An interest in the subject area is essential as well as a good level of English. If English is not your first language you will need to be at a minimum of ESOL level 1.
You will be assessed by your tutor through practical make-up tasks and online tests or assignments. The units studied include:
Working in the beauty industry
Health and safety
Client care and communication
Apply make-up
Provide lash and brow treatments
You will develop your skills on class peers and then you will carryout your assessments on live clients in a realistic salon environment.
Not mandatory but a placement in a beauty salon would support your learning and help to improve skills and confidence.
This qualification gives you the skills and knowledge to work in industry or to progress onto level 3 make-up
