If you have not attained GCSE grades 4-9 in English and Maths you will automatically be enrolled in classes to work towards these qualifications at an appropriate level to suit their ability.
This course is taught by a mix of practical sessions and classroom teaching, ensuring you are given sufficient theoretical knowledge to support your projects, activity and studies.
All staff have a great deal of work experience delivering excellent teaching standards combined with a vital understanding on how the Media industry works. This allows you to unlock potential work experience or employment in the Media.

Unit 1 Introduction to materials, processes and skills in art, design and media.
Unit 2 Introduction to contextual research in art, design and media.
Unit 3 Introduction to communication skills in art, design and media.
Unit 4 Solving 2D creative problems.
Unit 5 Solving 3D creative problems.
Unit 6 Solving time-based creative problems.
Unit 7 Art, design and media project
You can work with internal and external clients to develop content following a professional brief of what the client has requested. Work experience can also include producing work for a local indie games company, with credits listed on released games. You will also undertake live briefs as well as local and national competitions, such as World Skills and Artstation Challenges.
Upon completion of this course, you can progress onto a Level 3 Extended Diploma in either Media Production, Games Development, Graphic Design or other suitable Level 3 course at Hopwood Hall College. Potential Careers include; Animator, 3D modelling, Level Designer, Games tester, Concept Artist/Digital Artist, Programmer for Computer Games, Illustrator, Sound and Music Creator, Story Writer, Visual Effects artist for the film industry.
