Entry Requirements

This course is a re-assessment.

It is often packaged with the CCN1 domestic gas qualification.

Operatives working with higher supply pressures (75 mbar – 2 bar) are required to undertake the REGT1 assessment.

The course typically includes both training and open-book written assessments, using approved reference materials.

  • Gas Safety Legislation and Standards: Understanding regulations for safe gas installation.
  • Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures: Responding to emergencies in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Products and Characteristics of Combustion: Knowledge of combustion processes for safe installation.
  • Ventilation: Ensuring proper ventilation during meter installations.
  • Installation of Pipework and Fittings: Correct installation practices for gas meters.
  • Tightness Testing and Purging: Ensuring gas-tightness and proper system purging.
  • Meter Regulators: Checking and setting domestic gas meter regulators.
  • Unsafe Situations, Emergency Notices, and Warning Labels: Identifying and addressing hazardous situations.
  • Gas Safety Devices and Controls: Installation and setup of safety devices and controls.
  • Flue Assemblies: Installation of open, balanced, and fan-assisted flue systems.
  • Re-establishing Gas Supply and Re-lighting Appliances: Procedures for restoring the gas supply and lighting appliances.
