CKR1 Domestic Gas Cookers
The ACS CKR1 (Domestic Cookers) qualification course is designed to assess the competence of gas operatives responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing domestic gas cooking appliances. Upon successful completion, operatives will receive a UK certification valid for working on domestic gas cooking appliances.
Note: The CKR1 qualification does not cover specialist appliances, such as range-type cookers. For these, an additional CKHB1 qualification is required.

Entry Requirements
Initial Assessment: For gas operatives either new to CKR1 or those whose qualifications expired more than 12 months ago.
Prerequisites:
- Candidates must hold an active ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme) gas core qualification.
- First-time candidates may be required to have experience in realistic working environments.

- Installation: Correct procedures for fitting domestic gas cookers.
- Commissioning: Ensuring cookers are safe and operational after installation.
- Exchange: Replacing older appliances with new cookers.
- Disconnection: Safely disconnecting gas cookers from gas supplies.
