Counselling Skills - Taster Session

There has never been greater focus or emphasis on the importance of mental health and wellbeing. Studying Counselling Courses will empower you to develop an understanding of the science and theory underpinning emotional welfare development. More and more of us are understanding how critical it is to take up the opportunities to work on our mental health and nurture our personal relationships.

Our short taster course will give you an introductory of using counselling skills and an introduction to counselling skills theories.

The counselling taster sessions run over two Wednesday evenings. They are two standalone sessions and do not enable entry onto the Level 2 or Level 3 counselling courses. If you attend the counselling taster sessions and wish to join the Level 2 or Level3 counselling courses, you will need to attend an assessment/interview session the week after the taster sessions so that we can check suitability as per the details on the Level 2 counselling skills /Level 3 counselling diploma course pages.

Anyone that applied prior to Summer break for entry on the Level 2 or Level 3 will have attended interview/assessment and so the opportunity for anyone applying late is to attend counselling taster sessions and then attend an interview/assessment the following week which will be organised by the course tutor.

This course is FREE given that the following eligibility is met:

•    You live within the Greater Manchester area
•    You have lived in the UK/EU/EEA for the past 3 years now and/or have a settled status
•    Asylum Seekers must have been in the country for the past 6 months before they are eligible to do this course

Note: If you enrol on further study you may be asked to provide proof of income or benefit.

This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
