Skills for Life - Think Forward - Entry Level 1 Project Based Learning
Our Skills for Life courses accommodate learners aged 16-24 who have challenges/barriers to entering education, employment or training. They are designed for students who want to gain some qualifications in a mixture of life, vocational, functional skills or in a chosen vocational area.
This course helps develop the necessary skills for independence in order to make positive decisions about your future which may involve a working life.
Courses are nationally accredited and offer a variety of opportunities including enrichment, work placements, sports, trips, visits and guest speakers. Students will also gain functional skills in English, maths and ICT at an appropriate level.
On this course, you will participate in group projects and work towards completing the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
You may also study English and Maths at an appropriate level.
You will visit a variety of workplaces and meet with local employers, as well as enjoy taster sessions in other vocational areas.
This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Work Experience
Work placements are an integral part of the Supported Internship programme. Learners on this course are required to attend placement for two days every week throughout the college year. The college support each learner throughout the placement experience; from locating an employer, through the interview process and whilst they are undertaking the work experience. Placements are allocated based on learner skills, ability and confidence levels.
