Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Education and Skills)
The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET), formerly known as the Diploma to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), is an exciting new addition to our suite of teacher training qualifications. It is the recognised teaching qualification for the post-16 and adult sector. The course is equivalent to the second year of a UK bachelor’s degree, and is a popular route for prospective teachers who want to pursue a career in further education (FE), or currently hold an FE teaching role and want to gain a full teaching qualification. You can apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status once you’ve successfully completed your Level 5 training. QTLS is equivalent to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England, and allows you to work as a qualified teacher in state schools as well as FE colleges.
Our 2 year part-time course is open to in-service and pre-service candidates. All candidates must complete a 100 hour teaching practice placement over the two years.
Course Fees:
The total fee for the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training is £4,500 for the full two-year course.
