No formal qualifications are required.
You'll study a wide range of units which are designed to give you the grounding to decide upon which route you'd like to follow in the construction industry.

- Painting and decorating trade repairs plastering trade repairs
- Brickwork trade repairs
- Carpentry and Joinery trade repairs
- Tiling trade repairs
- Plumbing
- Erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms
- Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries
- Knowledge of construction technology
- Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others
- Developing customer relationships
There is no specific work experience required or undertaken for this course. However, the Multi Skills Training Centre is designed to replicate a workplace environment and will allow you to feel comfortable in a professional setting.
In addition, you will be encouraged to show off your talents in cross-college skills competitions.
This course is perfect for allowing you to progress with your studying, most likely through choosing a single trade to study at Level 2. However, you may prefer to train through an apprenticeship.
