Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs grade C/4 or above to include English or Maths. You will also have had to complete a Level 2 Diploma in Barbering to gain the required skills and knowledge to begin the level 3 certificate.
Details
This course is taught by a mix of classroom teaching followed by practical sessions to demonstrate an understanding of key hairdressing principles. All level 3 students should spend a vast proportion of their time working in industry with clients to enable them to fully develop their skills and prepare them for either employment or higher education.
All staff have a great deal of experience within this area and deliver excellent teaching standards which allows students to unlock their potential and gain valuable practical skills and knowledge.
Units on this course include:
- Monitor and maintain Health and safety practice in the salon
- Consultation support for colleagues
- Cutting Men's hair to create a variety of looks
- Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
- Provide shaving and face massage services
Work Experience
Level 3 students, will have the opportunity to work with their own clientele in the Riverside Salon, offering a range of barbering techniques, a minumum of 35 hours external experience is also mandatory.
Progression
Upon completion of this course, students have the option to progress onto higher education, further training or find employment as a hairdresser, barber, stylist or salon manager.
