Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma (Health Professions)
This pathway is designed for learners who wish to pursue careers that require additional content to get into university such as Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Paramedic roles and speech therapy.
The Access to HE Diploma in Health Professions is designed to reflect the rigor and demands of undergraduate study. It includes a range of assessment methods such as essays, reports, exams, presentations, and portfolios. The assessments will be spread throughout the year, and you will receive regular feedback to help you progress and develop your skills.
Access courses are designed for students who want a fast track route to university or to progress into careers and vocations that require higher level qualifications. Access courses have featured at Hopwood Hall for many years - changing the lives of many students. We're also proud to say that our achievement and success rates are amongst the best in the country.
You can expect to be in class 12 hours a week usually over two days - timetables are subject to change. You will need 12-20 hours outside of class to complete assignment work.

Entry Requirements
Immediate entry to our one-year Level 3 Access to HE Diplomas - offering the quickest route to university - is open to students who have already attained sufficient GCSE qualifications (Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths and Science).
It is preferred that you have these qualifications prior to starting your Level 3 Access Diploma as the skills you will have gained from studying these qualifications will really help you on this programme.
All applicants will have the opportunity to discuss their application in an interview with one of our tutors, where any questions about the course will be addressed. Additionally, you will complete an English and Maths assessment to assess your readiness for Level 3 study. Depending on the results, you may also have the opportunity to retake either a Maths or English GCSE alongside this course*.
*Please note, it will not be possible to retake both English and Maths GCSE alongside your Access to HE programme.

Whilst studying the Access to HE Diploma in Health Professions, you will complete units in the following modules, but these can be subject to change
Biology and Health Studies:
- Diet and Digestion
- Human Cardiovascular System
- Promoting Health
- Delivery of Health Care in the UK
- Ethical Issues in Healthcare
- Social Roles in the Caring Professions
Work Experience
There are no formal work experience requirements on this course.
