Entry requirements include GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Combined Science at Grade 4/C or above, in addition to GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
It is important to note that an Access to HE Diploma is a challenging and intense course, and you need to be highly motivated, dedicated and have a positive attitude to learning and succeeding.
Whilst studying the Access to HE Diploma in Combined and Medical Sciences, you will complete units in the following modules, but these can be subject to change:
Biology:
- The Cell
- The Musculoskeletal System
- Genetics
- Homeostasis
Chemistry:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Reacting Amounts
- Structure and Bonding
- Periodicity
Physics:
- Non-Ionising Medical Imaging
- X Ray Spectra and Medical uses of X Rays
- Properties of Matter
- Physics of the Senses.
In addition to these subject specific modules, the course includes developmental units to support you in developing your academic skills in preparation for university.
There are no formal work experience requirements on this course.
Access to Higher Education courses are designed for students who want a fast track route to university or to progress into careers and vocations that require higher level qualifications.
