There are no specific prior learning requirements for this qualification. It will be beneficial if you have Level 1 English and feel competent with using IT.
Eligibility:
- You must currently live in England
- You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
- You must be over the age of 19
- You must not be on an apprenticeship
This course is made up of five units:
- Information, advice or guidance in practice
- Developing interaction skills for information, advice and guidance
- Signposting and referral in information, advice and guidance
- Information, Advice or guidance – context
- Managing Information
As this qualification is knowledge only, you do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification. However, if a work placement is a required for your course, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
- Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
- Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Principles of Customer Service
- Level 2 Diploma in Customer Service
- Level 3 Award in Counselling Skills and Theory
- Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills
- Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Advice and Guidance
- Level 3 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance
