Creating a Business Start-Up - Level 2 Certificate

Whether your business is just a dream or is already in its infancy, this course can help equip you with the tools and knowledge to thrive. Create a business plan, brand and understand some of the challenges that new businesses can often face.For those who want to develop in-depth knowledge of how to start a business. You will learn how to develop a business plan and aspects of marketing. Also suitable for those who have already started their business and want to continue to develop their understanding and skills.

ATTENDANCE:

This course is delivered on a Flexible Learning basis over a twelve-week period. You will be assigned an assessor who will be able to provide additional help and support if required but all learning will be completed and submitted remotely through an on-line learning platform. Your assessor will provide feedback and advice on all work submitted and will assess your full qualification through to the end of learning.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific prior learning requirements for this qualification. It will be beneficial if you have Level 1 English and feel competent with using IT.

Eligibility:

You must currently live in England
You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
You must be over the age of 19
You must not be on an apprenticeship

Details

This course is made up of four units:

The first steps in setting up your business
How to market your start-up business effectively
How to create your business plan
Legal and financial considerations for your business

Work Experience

As this qualification is knowledge only, you do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification. However, if a work placement is a required for your course, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.

Progression

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to further Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications in areas where business skills are of importance. It may also be useful to learners studying qualifications in the following sectors:
