Hopwood Hall College and University Centre students are celebrating after receiving their hard-earned grades on results day.
The college – which has campuses in Middleton and Rochdale – saw its students finally finding out what they had achieved on Thursday.
This included Silvia Osondu, who’s been studying Applied Science (Biomedical).
The 20-year-old discovered she had attained a Distinction* and two Distinctions – just what she needed to land a coveted spot studying Medicine at the University of Plymouth.
Silvia, who was a pupil at Cardinal Langley RC High School, will now make a 300-mile move to the seaside city to pursue her dream of becoming a GP.
Meanwhile, Rubie Brown will be heading to the University of Chester to complete a BSc in Animal Behaviour.
The 19-year-old has set her sights on a career in sustainability and wildlife conservation now that she’s aced her qualification in Animal Management.
Rubie, a former pupil at Whitworth High School, already has a background in this after heading up the college’s Green Beans sustainability society.
Another student who’s celebrating is 18-year-old Callum Grainger.
Callum, who joined the college from St Cuthbert’s High School, achieved a Distinction in the T-Level in Education and Childcare.
The course allowed him to complete a 315-hour work placement with Georgie Porgies nursery in Rochdale, as well as land a job working as a Holiday Club Lead at Redwood Secondary School.
The T-Level gave him the essential experience to now secure a place studying Primary Education at Edge Hill University.
It’s proven to be the perfect course to move Callum one step closer to him goal of teaching in a primary school.
Finally, Huzefa Skindar smashed his T-Level in Design Surveying and Planning for Construction.
Huzefa, who attended The Oldham Academy North, has now accepted a place on the BSc Quantity Surveying course at the University of Salford.

“I’ve no doubt that the future holds so much for them all now that they’ve completed these life-changing qualifications and are already taking their newly-developed skills into the world.”
