- A Level 2 Barbering qualification or current employment within the barbering industry.
- Completion of a BKSB assessment demonstrating English skills at Level 2, carried out at the college.
This course is taught by a mix of classroom teaching followed by practical sessions to demonstrate understanding of key hairdressing and barbering principles. All level 3 students should spend a vast proportion of their time working in industry with clients to enable them to fully develop their skills and prepare them for either employment or higher education.
All staff have a great deal of experience within this area and deliver excellent teaching standards which allows students to unlock their potential and gain valuable practical skills and knowledge.
Units on this course include:
- Monitor and maintain Health and safety practice in the salon
- Consultation support for colleagues
- Cutting Men's hair to create a variety of looks
- Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
- Provide shaving and face massage services
To support the development of advanced Level 3 skills, learners are ideally expected to already be working within the industry.
Upon completion of this course, students have the option to progress onto higher education, further training or find employment as a hairdresser, barber, stylist or salon manager.
