You will also receive first-hand experience in troubleshooting computer problems and using network hardware and network simulation software to design, build, and fault-find on networks.

This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade D/3 or above to include English and Mathematics.

If you have not attained GCSE grades 4-9 in English and Maths, you will automatically be enrolled in classes to work towards these qualifications at an appropriate level to suit your needs.

Work Experience

The Level 2 BTEC Digital Applications course will expose you to the probable day-to-day experiences of a Junior IT Technician in most companies. You are required to shadow our technician at The Hopwood Hall IT Repair shop. This will ensure that you get hands-on experience of solving hardware, software, and network related problem requested by staff, students and the public.

Progression

By completing the BTEC Level 2 Digital Applications course, you should have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of computers and computer Science. This will provide the next step to progress onto a Level 3 T-Level Digital Production, Design and Development programme which leads onto University, or, an apprenticeship as an IT technician, junior software engineer or junior web developer with a local company.
