Sport with Basketball - Level 2 Certificate

Are you passionate about basketball and looking to develop your skills? With fantastic on site facilities, our Basketball Academy is the perfect place for you. We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with the Manchester Magic to deliver a Basketball Education programme here at the College.

Manchester Magic, founded in 1997, are based at the Manchester Basketball Centre. It was originally named Amaechi Basketball Centre after British NBA star John Amaechi, who grew up in Stockport and learnt his basketball under Joe Forber, the club's co-founder. Amaechi, who played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz, eventually played competitively for the Magic once his NBA career had come to an end.

The main emphasis of the programme is to develop the sport of basketball in the borough of Rochdale and beyond, making use of our outstanding Sports Arena facilities. The opportunities for our basketball players are endless and with the growth of the partnership, these opportunities will be present both inside and outside of the classroom.

You can study this programme on a variety of courses ranging from Level 1 in Sport to Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, with training and matches running alongside the delivery of education provision.

This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
