- 4 GCSEs grade D/3 or above to include English and Mathematics.
- Or a relevant level 1 qualification.
- If you have not attained GCSE grades 4-9 in English and Maths, you will automatically be enrolled in classes to work towards these qualifications at an appropriate level to suit your ability.
This course is taught by a mix of practical sessions and classroom teaching, ensuring you are given sufficient theoretical knowledge to support your projects, activity and studies.
All staff have a great deal of work experience delivering excellent teaching standards combined with a vital understanding on how the Media industry works. This allows you to unlock potential work experience or employment in the Media.

There will also be educational Visits to enhance the learning experience including BAFTA Video Game Awards, EGX Rezzed, Leeds Armouries, National Video Game Museum, residential visits and much more.
Work experience is in the format of producing work for a local indie games company, with credits listed on released games. You wull also undertake live briefs as well as local and national competitions, such as World Skills and Artstation Challenges.
Upon completion of this course, you can progress onto Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games Development here at Hopwood Hall College.
Potential Careers include; Animator, 3D modelling, Level Designer, Games tester, Concept Artist/Digital Artist, Programmer for Computer Games, Illustrator, Sound and Music Creator, Story Writer, Visual Effects artist for the film industry.
