Entry requirements for the Level 4 Associate Project Manager
- English and Maths GCSE at Grade 4-9 (C-A*)
- Relevant Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent (e.g T-Level)
What you'll learn and do:
- Role and Purpose - The purpose of this role is to support the successful delivery of a project, ensuring its scope and intended benefits are achieved as planned. This involves helping to plan, organise and monitor project activities, including coordinating resources, scheduling tasks and communicating with stakeholders to ensure work is delivered in the correct sequence and within agreed timescales
- Working Environment and Scope - This apprenticeship is perfect for aspiring project professionals who want to build a solid foundation in managing projects and teams. Whether you’re new to project management or already working in a support role, this programme will help you develop the skills to progress your career.
- Key Skills - Building key skills such as collaborating across teams, delivering project objectives and engaging and influencing stakeholders.You will also become adept in resolving conflict and negotiating project outcomes. You will typically report to the project manager who ensures delivery of the project scope.
- Communication - Strong communication is essential for successful project delivery. During this apprenticeship you will develop the ability to communicate clearly with project teams, stakeholders and managers. You will learn how to share updates, manage expectations and
support collaboration so that project information is understood and delivered effectively.
Apprenticeship Assessment
Your skills will be tested through:
- Written Project Report: You will complete a written project report based on a significant and defined piece of work that has a real business application and benefit to your organisation.
- Presentation with questioning: You will deliver a presentation based on your project report to an independent assessor. This will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have developed throughout the apprenticeship. The presentation will be followed by questions from the assessor.
- Professional discussion: You will take part in a structured professional discussion with an independent assessor. This discussion will be based on the evidence collected in your portfolio throughout the apprenticeship and will allow you to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and behaviours in relation to the Associate Project Manager standard.
Successful completion can earn you a pass or distinction grade, setting you up for a bright future in the
Project Management industry.
Duration/Lengths:
Typically 18 months of training, followed by a 5-month assessment period.
As part of the apprenticeship there is a dedicated off the job learning requirement. This is a minimum of 6 hours per week for the duration of the apprenticeship. This could include:
