Apprenticeship Standard - Level 3 Fire and Security
Ready to gain the skills and knowledge needed to join a thriving sector? The Level 3 Fire and Security Apprenticeship is a popular training route that has a strong record for leading to a range of careers in the industry.
If you’re considering an apprenticeship or if you’re an employer looking to take on an apprentice, there is no better place to gain this coveted qualification than at Hopwood Hall College – especially as apprentices can look forward to being taught in the college’s brand new Fire and Security workshop.
This is located in the newly extended Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Centre at our Middleton Campus in Middleton, Greater Manchester. This dynamic space is one of the largest of its kind in the country – if not the largest! It features 23 individual bays in which apprentices can develop skills in four disciplines: fire alarms, CCTV, door access and intruder alarms.

This vast workshop makes for a unique learning experience that combines both practical and theory work in the same exceptional space. In addition, apprentices will benefit from being taught by expert tutors who have years of industry experience.
Fire and Security Technicians design, install, commission and maintain electronic systems in and outside simple and complex premises to protect individuals, homes and properties from risk and danger.
Systems include fire and security systems to detect intrusion, provide surveillance, monitor and control access to buildings, properties and sites or to detect fire and emergencies.
