The Green Beans is a student-led initiative that’s contributing to our college-wide efforts to ensure a green future – not just for Hopwood Hall but across the borough, the country and indeed the world.
Our students are really embracing both new and established ways of promoting sustainability. The Green Beans have the opportunity to put ideas forward, see them brought to life and measure the positive impact that they’re having.
In their own words, they are ‘building a greener future together through creativity, sustainability, and collaboration’
The Green Beans’ full mission statement reads: “Our mission is to make our college more sustainable by such initiatives as adding green spaces, planting herb gardens for the chef, and reducing plastic bottle use.
Green Beans members can be found meeting together to create new sustainability strategies, talking with other students about any ideas they might have and sharing messages of progress in our student magazine or on the college’s social channels.
It really is an exciting initiative that not only captures the lively and forward-thinking spirit of our college community, but also the values that we all hold dear on #TeamHopwood!
