What is an apprentice?

An apprentice is an employee who works as part of your team while completing structured training alongside their job. Apprentices gain practical experience in the workplace while developing new skills through off-the-job training delivered by Hopwood Hall College.

Apprenticeships are developed with employers to ensure they build the industry-specific knowledge and skills needed to perform effectively in the role.

The government contributes towards the cost of apprenticeship training, depending on factors such as the apprentice’s age and whether your organisation pays the apprenticeship levy. Employers are responsible for paying their apprentice’s wages.

Why take on an apprentice?

An apprentice can quickly become a valuable member of your team. They contribute to your business from day one while developing the skills and knowledge they need through structured training with Hopwood Hall College.
