Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations - 2382-26
This qualification is designed primarily for practising electricians with relevant experience, as well as allied professionals such as surveyors, consultants and other tradespeople who need to update or enhance their knowledge of electrical installation requirements.
The course is also suitable for anyone with prior knowledge of electrical theory and science and principles who want to demonstrate their understanding of the IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Please note: This course is not suitable for school leavers or for those with no prior knowledge of Electrical theory.
Course delivery
The course is delivered over 3 full days at our Hopwood Hall Middleton Campus with sessions running from 8.30am to 3.30pm

Entry Requirements
You must have a basic knowledge and understanding of electrical theory and science principles. Book Required - BS:7672 18th Edition Regulations AMD 4 (orange book, latest amendments).

Units on this course inlcude:
- Understand the scope, object and fundamental principles of BS7671
- Understand the definitions used within BS7671
- Understand how to assess the general characteristics of electrical installations
- Understand requirements of Protection for safety for electrical installations
- Understand the requirements for Selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations
- Understand the requirements of Inspection and testing of electrical installations
- Understand the requirements of special installations or locations as identified in BS 7671
- Prosumers installations and Understand the information contained within the appendices of BS7671.

Not applicable. The College cannot provide any work experience routes for this qualification (please see entry requirements).
