Immediate entry to the one-year Level 3 Access to HE Diploma offers students who have already attained sufficient GCSE qualifications the quickest route to university.
It is desirable that you have an English and Maths GCSE at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
However, we may be able to accept students without Maths, if their preferred university course does not require a Maths qualification.
In addition, it is possible to take a Maths GCSE alongside this Access Diploma.
It is preferred that you have these qualifications prior to starting your Level 3 Access to HE programme as the skills you will have gained from studying these qualifications will really help you on this programme.
All applicants will have the opportunity to discuss their application in an interview with one of our tutors, where any questions about the course will be addressed.
Additionally, you will complete an English and Maths assessment to assess your readiness for Level 3 study. Depending on the results, you may also have the opportunity to retake either a Maths or English GCSE alongside this course*.
*Please note, it will not be possible to retake both English and Maths GCSE alongside your Access to HE programme.
The course is delivered through a mixture of lectures, class discussions, small group work and independent study, and there will be enrichment opportunities such as visits to relevant social, cultural and historical places of interest and client briefs.
You will receive expert advice, guidance and assistance in applying for university, and you will be supported through your studies by a team of highly qualified academic and support staff. Units on this course include:
- Digital Design Principles
- Introduction to the Media
- Visual Studies
- Developing a Brand
