College’s results celebrate the power of technical education

Hopwood Hall College’s Class of 2026 are set to put their newly honed skillsets into action after finding amazing success on Results Day.

It was a true celebration of the power of technical education as this year’s ambitious learners opened their grades on Thursday.

Among them is Holly Melia, from Bury, who studied Level 3 Biomedical Science.

Holly was delighted to find out she had earned two Distinction*’s and a Distinction during the two-year course in which she ‘fell in love with science’ thanks to the enthusiasm and expertise of her tutors.

The 19-year-old has now accepted an offer to study Biochemistry at the University of Salford and aspires to one day complete a PhD.

William Woodworth was thrilled to discover he’d landed a Distinction in the T Level in Building Services Electrical Engineering.

The qualification has opened doors for the former Beech House School pupil as he’s quickly been recruited as a Substation Fitter Apprentice with Electricity North West.

During his course, William seized the opportunity to complete a 45-day industry placement with Network Plus.

He said this invaluable experience equipped him with the skills, knowledge and confidence to secure his apprenticeship.

Meanwhile, James Walker also performed extremely well by earning a Distinction on the same course.

The former Crompton House pupil is now set to start a degree in Quantity Surveying at the University of Salford.

Finally, Madison Schofield, from Oldham, achieved an excellent result in Animal Management.

The former Newman RC College pupil has now proudly accepted a place to study the BSc in Zoo Science and Wildlife Conservation at Hopwood Hall College’s University Centre.
