College results prove T-levels the perfect pathway to success

Hopwood Hall College and University Centre students are celebrating following another set of amazing grades on results day.

In particular, T-Levels are proving to be game-changing qualifications – with more and more learners using them as a pathway to success.

This includes Harrison Dolan, who achieved a Distinction on the T-Level in Building Services Electrical Engineering.

Harrison – who attended St Matthew’s RC High School in Moston, Manchester – has now accepted a much sought-after degree apprenticeship with the construction and engineering company Costain.

Meanwhile, course mate Joshua Naylor has used his newly-earned qualification to gain employment with the building services specialist Briggs and Forrester.

Joshua – who was a pupil at St Cuthbert’s RC High School in Rochdale – previously won the T-Level Star Award at the college’s annual student awards in June.

Futhermore, Alina Iqbal received a Distinction in the T-Level in Education and Childcare.

The former Oulder Hill Leadership Academy pupil has now accepted a place to study BA Early Years and Childhood Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University.

T-Levels have become an extremely popular route at Hopwood Hall, especially as each course gives students the opportunity to complete an invaluable 315-hour (45-day) work placement.

The college works with countless employers across the region to ensure that each learner is able to thrive in workplaces across the borough and beyond.

In addition to T-Levels, Hopwood’s BTEC learners were also celebrating after receiving their results.

Kieron Biggs, for example, earned an incredible three Distinction*s on the Level 3 in Sport with Football.

The former Newman RC College pupil has now turned his sights to Higher Education.

He’ll be progressing to study the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching and Performance Analysis at Hopwood’s own University Centre.

Julia Heap, Principal and CEO at Hopwood Hall College and University Centre, said:

“This year’s results are a testament to the hard work and determination that we see from our students all year round.

“I’m over the moon to see that their qualifications are already opening up exciting new opportunities – with so many learners having been offered employment, accepted a place at university or moved onto a degree apprenticeship.

“The Class of 2024 have set a brilliant example for future students and I’ve no doubt they’ll go on to find even more success in whatever they choose to do!”
