How to recruit an apprentice

Step 2

Our Skills Consultant will meet with you to establish your business needs, help you develop a job description and begin promoting your vacancy.

A Health & Safety appraisal will also be required to ensure it is suitable for an apprentice.

If you are a levy paying employer (paybill over £3m) you will also need to setup an online account with the national apprenticeship service – through which you will plan your apprenticeship programme and manage the funding for your apprenticeship(s). We can assist you in setting this up and managing the system.

Step 3

Our Recruitment Advisor will source and screen candidates who fit your requirements and send you CVs for consideration. Once you have chosen a shortlist, we will arrange the interviews on your behalf. We interview all applicants ourselves before sending them on to employers ensuring all candidates are of a high calibre.

Step 4

Following the interviews, we will give feedback to all candidates on your behalf, informing your chosen candidate they have been successful.

Step 5

Once you have chosen your apprentice, we complete the paperwork and ensure you and the apprentice are ready for the apprenticeship to start.

Step 6

Once your apprentice has started employment we arrange a visit with our trainer, who meets the apprentice and mentor to create the learning plan for their training and development.
