This course is aimed at anyone who would like to become a mentor and support people in a variety of settings. You will understand the role of the mentor and be aware of the skills needed to become an effective mentor.

This course will be delivered over 3 days in 3 weeks. (This could vary depending on SWAP)
Next available dates – 3 consecutive Wednesdays 4th, 11th and 18th May 2022. This course will run from 10am-4pm.
NCFE Level 1 Award in Mentoring
There are no previous educational requirements for this course. Applicants will need access to suitable IT equipment and Wi-Fi to access the virtual classroom. Applicants should be aged 19+ (on 31st August 2020).
The course will cover the following topics:
- Role of a mentor
- Preparing for the role of a mentor
- Demonstrating mentoring skills
Work experience is not included in this training
You can progress on to a Level 2 Mentoring course, Health and Social Care, Advice or Guidance or Teaching Assistant course. If you feel as though you would like to get into teaching, there is also the opportunity to progress into Education and Teaching. In addition, you can brush up your work skills by enrolling on Employability Skills L1 Award. We also offer a range of flexible learning courses where you can achieve a great qualification by studying from home. Free English and maths courses are available to all learners who do not hold a current GCSE at grade C or above, and free Computers for Beginners courses are available for learners with no or very low computer user skills.
