Course Description

Have you got a passion and talent for rugby? This sports performance academy is the perfect choice for you. The Rugby Academy is delivered alongside our sports diploma, with places subject to maintaining the required academic standard and attendance.

A ‘work hard play hard’ ethos is expected of all students and a balanced approach to the sporting/academic demands of the programme is essential. The Academy is run by qualified, highly respected and well-known coaches who have developed a unique training programme which includes specialist advice on nutrition, sports therapy, sports psychology and skills development.

As our facilities are of such a high standard, our Rugby Academy has also become a den for the Rochdale Hornets, a partner of the College who use this facility and have provided opportunities for our players to train with them and, in some cases, be signed by them. Therefore, representing a pathway into League 1!

This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Qualification

Pearsons BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport QCF (Rugby Academy Pathway)

Entry Requirements

In order to begin this course, learners need to have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade C/4 or above to include English and Mathematics.

Other entry requirements that are accepted are a BTEC Level 2 qualification, NVQ Level 2 or VRQ Level 2.
