Apply NowThis FREE course is for anyone who wants to work in social care in either local authority or private care environments. It is also suitable for qualified practitioners who have not covered dementia care in previous qualifications.
This qualification aims to develop the knowledge and skills required when providing positive care for people with dementia and their families. The Level 2 Award provides an awareness of the causes and symptoms of dementia. This qualification is aligned to the National Dementia Strategy.
Course dates: 14th September 2022 - 25th January 2023 (new cohort after this date starts 1st February 2023).
17 weeks, Wednesday's 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Details
Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of:
- What
dementia is, the different forms of dementia and how others can have an
impact on the individual with dementia
- Developing
knowledge of the person-centred approach to dementia care and support
- Developing
awareness of differing communication needs and abilities of individuals
with dementia in order to enhance positive interaction
- Introducing the concepts of equality, diversity and inclusion that are fundamental to
person-centred care practice.
