City & Guilds VRQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy (QCF)
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D/3 or above to include English and Mathematics are required to begin this course. If the required grade is not reached you will need to study these subjects alongside the course to help achieve grade C/4. This is a government requirement but also needed by many employers for any numbers of careers.
Details
This course is taught by a mix of classroom
teaching followed by practical sessions to demonstrate understanding of key
beauty therapy principles.
All staff have a great deal of experience
within this area and deliver excellent teaching standards which allows students
to unlock their potential and gain valuable practical skills and knowledge.
Topics
on this course include:
- Working in the beauty therapy industry,
- Maintaining health and safety in the salon,
- Consulting and advising clients on treatments
Technical
units such as:
- Facial treatments
- Waxing techniques
- Manicure/pedicure treatments
- Make-up
- Nail art
- Eye treatments
Work Experience
This is a very practical course and will include working in our Riverside Salon to gain real experience in a salon environment.
Progression
Upon completion of this course, students have the option to progress to the VRQ Level 3 in Beauty Diploma or the Level 3 Diploma in Nail Services or employment.
