Adult ESOL Classes

Course Description

If your first language is not English and you want to improve your written and spoken English, this course is for you.

Covering the four main skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing, you will gain nationally recognised qualifications in English language, with optional units on computing and maths skills. In addition, you will learn about UK culture and take part in events to celebrate your own. You’ll also take part in fun competitions to develop job interview skills, and develop the confidence to live, study and work in the UK successfully.

Exact start dates during the Autumn term to be confirmed, however places fill quickly so early applications are encouraged.

Entry Requirements

Initial assessment will be undertaken to find the best class for your level.

You will be required to provide proof of ID (such as passport, residence permit, ARC card) to determine your eligibility and you may need to pay fees for your course.

On this course you will cover subjects that include: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Grammar and Functional English. Optional units on Maths and ICT are also available.

The course is geared towards helping you learn through fun activities, role play, essays, quizzes and tests.

Assessment occurs in December and May.

Upon completion of this course, students are able to progress on to vocational study within the college, to university or to work.
