We'll ensure you're ready for a role as an Early Years Practitioner armed with all the knowledge to ensure the safeguarding, protection and wellbeing of the babies and young children that you are looking after.
Gain the knowledge and understanding of different aspects of childcare and how to apply them in the workplace as you put your newfound skills into practice in your virtual nursery.
This course is taught at our Rochdale campus, located in Rochdale Town Centre, Greater Manchester.
Certificate in Early Years Education and Care (VRQ)
4 GCSEs grade D/3 or above to include English and Mathematics.

- Legislation, frameworks and professional practise
- Play, development and learning for school readiness
- Professional development
- Observation, assessment and planning
You will need to be working, volunteering or be on practical placement to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
We recommend you complete 250 placement hours whilst undertaking this qualification.
Placement opportunity must allow for sufficient skills application with babies and young children to meet the assessment criteria for the qualification.
Upon completion of this course, students can move onto the Level 3 CACHE Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator).
You could also go onto an apprenticeship or move straight into employment, with possible careers including: Primary Teaching, Early Years Teacher, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder, Practitioner in Day Nurseries, Nursery Schools and Primary Schools or Preschool Worker.
