Course Description

Most students would benefit from gaining an understanding of manual bookkeeping before studying this qualification. Students must have as a minimum an Entry level 3 or above Maths qualification (GCSE grade E or 2, Functional Skill or Key skill) and Entry level 3 or above English qualification (GCSE grade E or 2, Functional Skill or Key skill).

This course starts in September 2021 and will run for 18 weeks, 2 hours per week on Wednesday's 10am - 12pm.

Details

Accounting software is a single unit qualification. This unit introduces students to using accounting software and the main features of accounting software. On completion of this unit, students will be able to set up general ledger accounts and to record bank and cash transactions from a variety of documents, including bank statements. You will be able to recognise potential risks to accounting software security and know how to protect accounting software against threats. Students will be able to use accounting software to produce a variety of reports for a business, such as a trial balance and an audit trail. Students will also explore the differences between cloud accounting software and traditional accounting software. The qualification is assessed through a single online 2 hour examination.
