This course is aimed at adults aged 19+ on or before the 31st of August.
16-18 year olds will be offered relevant English and Maths qualifications alongside their full-time study programme and do not need to apply separately.
This course is free if you do not currently hold GCSE Maths at Grade A*-C (or 9-4 on the grading system from 2017 onwards). Please email email@example.com for further fee information.
GCSE Maths is a qualification which is crucial to gain employment and access to further education. It is ideal for adults who wish to improve their mathematical skills, facilitate progression, build confidence and develop a positive attitude towards Maths.
Courses take place at our Middleton and Rochdale campuses on various days and times; however evening courses are only available at the Middleton campus. Please complete an online application or attend one of our Open Days to complete a skills assessement.skills assessement.
EDEXCEL GCSE in Mathematics
A recent GCSE Maths qualification at Grade D or Grade 3 or a recent Level 2 Functional Skills qualification.
All students must take a GCSE Maths assessment which is required to find
the right study level for each applicant. If you are unsuccessful in achieving a
place on the GCSE Maths, you may be re-directed towards a Functional Skills Maths
Mathematics GCSE includes transferable skills which is useful in all working roles. You will learn how to use problem-solving strategies and to work efficiently by breaking down complex situations into simpler steps. You will be able to explore, identify and interpret mathematical situations and communicate clearly.

GCSE Maths is an essential subject for progression to many other courses. Many universities and employers require that you have at least a grade 4 in this subject.
