There are no specific prior learning requirements for this qualification. It will be beneficial if you have Level 1 English and feel competent with using IT.
Eligibility:
- You must currently live in England
- You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
- You must be over the age of 19
- You must not be on an apprenticeship
This course is made up of eight units:
- Understanding customer service in retail
- Understanding the retail selling process
- Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business
- Health and Safety
- Consumer law
- Dealing with customer queries and complaints
- Handling customer payments
- Understanding the control, receipt and storage of stock
As this qualification is knowledge only, you do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification. However, if a work placement is a required for your course, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
- Level 2 Certificate in Retail Skills • Level 2 Diploma in Retail Skills
- Level 3 Certificate in Retail Knowledge
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Retail (Specialist, Management, Visual Merchandising or Sales Professional pathway)
