In order to begin this course, learners need to have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade D/3 or above to include English and Mathematics.
If you have not attained GCSE grades 4-9 in English and Maths you will automatically be enrolled in classes to work towards these qualifications at an appropriate level to suit your ability.
A 'work hard play hard' ethos is expected of all students and a balanced approach to the sporting/academic demands of the programme is essential.
Our Football Academy is run by a qualified, highly respected and well-known professional coach. We have developed a unique training programme which combines the Football Academy with a diploma in sport and includes specialist advice on nutrition, sports therapy, sports psychology, skills development plus organising and preparing to coach a range of sporting events.
Football Academy Competitive fixtures mean that students must be under 19 at the start of the course. Rugby League/Football Academy (Men's) places at the academy are subject to maintaining the required academic standard.
**Dependent upon timetables, the Football Academy may be studied alongside other courses in the college - with the diploma being credited to that specific chosen area.**

There is no specific work experience required or undertaken for this course however, you will obtain the skills and knowledge that they need in order to progress into a career in the Football/Sports industry. There is also an opportunity to travel around different countries in Europe, competing in Cups.
Following the completion of this course, learners are able to progress onto any level 3 qualification including the Football Academy with Sports Diploma.
