This qualification is designed for learners looking to start work in, or are already working in health and social care, who would like an understanding of common health conditions and their effects on individuals.

This level 2 course in Common Health Conditions covers a variety of health conditions and It’s a great way to increase your understanding of these conditions and help you to monitor the health of people affected by them.

ATTENDANCE:

This course is delivered on a Flexible Learning basis over a twelve-week period. You will be assigned an assessor who will be able to provide additional help and support if required but all learning will be completed and submitted remotely through an on-line learning platform. Your assessor will provide feedback and advice on all work submitted and will assess your full qualification through to the end of learning.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific prior learning requirements for this qualification. It will be beneficial if you have Level 1 English and feel competent with using IT.

Eligibility:

  • You must currently live in England
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
  • You must be over the age of 19
  • You must not be on an apprenticeship

This course is made up of six units:

  • How to Contribute to Monitoring the health of Individuals Affected by Health Conditions
  • Introductory Awareness of Sensory Loss
  • Stroke Awareness
  • Dementia Awareness
  • Arthritis Awareness
  • Parkinson’s Disease Awareness
Work Experience

As this qualification is knowledge only, you do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification. However, if a work placement is a required for your course, the College will support you in completing a DBS application.
