There are exciting things happening at a college in Rochdale and Middleton – and you can see for yourself at its upcoming ‘Access All Areas’ Open Event.

Hopwood Hall College and University Centre – which is making huge investment to its buildings and facilities – will open its doors to school leavers and adult learners from 4:30pm-7pm on Thursday 7th April.

Year 11s will get a great taste of college life as they learn about post-school options such as Apprenticeships, BTECs and the revolutionary new T-Levels.

Those aged 19+ will also have a wide selection of pathways to explore, including part-time courses that take place face-to-face, online and on a flexible basis.

In addition, those who want to access life-changing Higher Education without the hassle or expense of moving away from home can find out about Hopwood’s thriving University Centre.

Similarly, visitors can also learn about Access – the fast-track route to university for people who don’t currently have the qualifications needed to advance to Higher Education

This event couldn’t come at a better time – with plenty of thrilling new sights to see at both campuses.

At Middleton there’s a huge amount of work ongoing, including a £6.1m extension being made to the 6,500sq-m Technology Centre.

It’s just a stone’s throw away from campus staples such as the Sports Arena and the Hopwood Theatre

There are also vast wildlife enclosures that home creatures like flamingos and wallabies and are also the site of the popular ‘Animal Academy’ for 13 to 16-year-olds in Greater Manchester.

Meanwhile, Rochdale features the most modern equipment for courses such as Media, Games Development and Esports.

These hi-tech spaces sit alongside cutting edge areas like art studios, dental nursing labs and the contemporary Riverside Salon.

Julia Heap, Principal and CEO of Hopwood Hall College and University Centre, said: “The college is getting bigger and better every day and I’d encourage people to experience some of the exciting things that are happening.

“I expect many visitors will be surprised by how much both campuses are transforming.

“We’re not stopping there either, with even more investment being made to ensure we keep providing the best education for people of all ages.

“My advice would be to come and see for yourself because we’d love to show you exactly where you could be learning and all the different courses you have to choose from.”

During the event attendees will be able to speak to the expert tutors who will be teaching their course.

These individuals have years of experience in their respective fields – whether that’s Engineering, IT & Digital, Early Years or any number of courses taught at Hopwood Hall.
